Youth Trust’s School Resources for Lent

The Archbishop of York’s Youth Trust are providing free Lent resources, which invite young people to explore six topics about Faith, Wisdom, Hope, Community, Respect & Dignity, and Action.  The free resources for both Primary and Secondary aged pupils.

Pupils will explore and question what each key topic means in the Bible and how it can be applied to their daily lives.  Each week will challenge them to apply this principle and reach out to serve others, and ‘be the change they want to see’ in the world around them.

The resources unpack the 6 key topics and include:

  • A key Bible verse
  • Explanation on the topic
  • Questions to ponder and discuss
  • Challenge to Action
  • A prayer

Elizabeth Howat, Secondary Strategic Lead said: “We wanted to provide schools with a resource during Lent which can support collective worship and help and encourage pupils to take time to reflect during the season and consider what they can do to ‘give up’ and ‘give out’ to others. The resources provide practical challenges which enable pupils to take what they’ve learnt about each key topic and apply this to be the change they want to see in their communities.”

The Youth Trust team are looking forward to inspiring and encouraging pupils throughout the six weeks of Lent, and would love to hear what they have been up to, so don’t forget to include them in your tweets @ABYyouthtrust #BeTheChange #Lent
