Bradford’s Immanuel College Celebrates Young Leaders Awards with Bishop Nick

240 Young Leaders from Immanuel College, Bradford received their Young Leaders Awards in a special ceremony at Bradford Cathedral this week having completed the Key Stage 3 Young Leaders Award as developed by the Archbishop of York’s Youth Trust

The Certificates and Badges were presented by the Rt. Revd. Nick Baines, Bishop of Leeds who said:

“I’m delighted that so many young people at Immanuel College have been keen to gain key leadership skills. They’ve been putting into practice lessons about serving others and participating fully in society, which will be of huge benefit to the communities they live in now and in the future. I look forward to meeting them all.”

Bishop Nick also reminded the Young Leaders to always remember that they can be the change they can see.

The Young Leaders at Immanuel have undertaken a number of action projects in a bid to ‘Be the Change they Want to See’ including work to improve the school environment through recycling, creating spiritual displays and raising funds during their own time for its partner school in Gambia.

Young Leaders Award Coordinator at Immanuel College, Dean Wearmouth said:

“It has been fantastic to see students really living out our school’s Christian values whilst working towards the award and we are all very proud of their hard work and achievements.”

Young Leader Megan Malcolm said:

“The Young Leaders Award has taught me that I can really make a difference in the world and learning about great leaders of faith has really inspired me.”

She and Owen Passmore were also congratulated by Bishop Nick on winning the Bible Society Writing Prize.
