A brand new free collective worship resource for Lent 2024 aimed at KS2 and KS3 learners. The resource draws on the wisdom of Black Spirituality and has been inspired and informed by the 2024 Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book, 'Tarry Awhile: Wisdom from Black Spirituality for People of Faith' by Selina Stone.

Lent 2024

Watch and Pray: Wisdom and hope for Lent and life.

On the night he was betrayed, Jesus kneels in darkness in the Garden of Gethsemane.  Although he pleads with his disciples, “Stay here with me… Watch and pray,” they all fall asleep, leaving him alone in his time of great suffering.

This season of Lent, we invite your school to join us as we Watch and Pray, discovering what it means to wait, bringing wisdom and hope for Lent and life.

There are 6 weeks of resources including:

- Liturgical Suggestions

- Bible passage activity

- Video Exploration

- Practical and prayerful actions

- Prayer

- Additional ideas for connecting home, church and school

Alongside this collective worship resource, the Church of England have produced a daily reflections booklet for adults (CHP) and a daily challenge booklet for children and families (CHP). Find out more here: https://cofe.io/WatchAndPray
